Don’t pick on giraffes

Don’t say they look daft

Don’t look at their loooooooooong necks

And poke fun and laugh

Ok they look strange

Ok they look odd

With their heads such a long way away from their bods

I knew one who married a lamppost it’s true

I knew one who was too big to fit in the zoo

I knew one so short-sighted he’d not seen his toes

I know one with huge scarf he wore in the snow

Don’t pick on giraffes

Don’t say they look daft

Don’t look at their loooooooooong necks

And poke fun and laugh

Ok they look weird

Ok they’re sooooooooooo tall

With ears so far up they don’t hear when you call

I knew one who lived with his head in the clouds

I knew one who always stood out in a crowd

I knew one who never could get clothes to fit him

I knew one who complained when aeroplanes hit him

Don’t pick on giraffes

Don’t say they look daft

Don’t look at their loooooooooong necks

And poke fun and laugh

They’re the tallest creatures you ever will see

So much taller than you

So much taller than me

They’re taller than houses

They’re taller than trees

They’re taller than really tall things - so please:

Don’t pick on giraffes

Don’t say they look daft

Don’t look at their loooooooooong necks

And poke fun and laugh

Don’t pick on giraffes
