There’s a monster locked inside me
And sometimes he gets out
Often the monster screams
Often the monster shouts
He doesn’t do what he is told
He throws and breaks his toys
I’ve even heard he terrorises other girls and boys
There’s a monster locked inside me
And the monster gets real mad
He snarls and growls at adults too
(Especially my mum and dad)
The monster follows me to school
Scares pupils and the teachers
Disrupts classes and breaks rules
He’s not a pleasant creature
There’s a monster locked inside me
He even wears my clothes
They say the monster follows me everywhere I go
Last week he hit my sister smack upon the nose
There’s a monster locked inside me
Who stuffed all my sweets into his belly
He then got sent to my room
And got banned from watching telly
He spoke throughout assembly
Then stole my mate’s football
Though everyone talks about him
I’ve never seen him at all
Yes, there’s a monster locked inside me
Who escapes when I’m not around
He leaves a trail of destruction
Then disappears without a sound
Today he got detention
And a whack upon the bum
He really is a horrid, scary, naughty, nasty, troublesome, devilish little monster
So if you see him - RUN!
