Old Superman

His hair is grey and every day
A little more strength slips away
For Superman is getting old
And can’t afford to be so bold

His aches and pains all put the strain
Upon his weary super frame
His x-ray vision’s not too good
He finds it hard to see through wood

While all his foes they can’t be found
They’re dead and buried underground
So unemployed he now must stay
Although he’s proved that crime don’t pay

To keep fit he’ll go for a jog
Or go out to walk Superdog
Who’s also getting old and fat
Unable to chase Supercat

And if the weather’s warm and dry
He’ll fly around up in the sky
Far down below the crowds will shout
“For 95 he gets about!”

His super costume’s getting worn
He wears it when he mows the lawn
For gardening now takes up his time
It’s safer fighting weeds than crime

So things have changed and people gone
But Superman goes on and on
And though he’s old he’s still the best
To help you if you’re in distress
