Umbrella

I put up my umbrella
To protect me from the rain
Drip, drop
Till it stops
Then put it down again

When the sky is dark and black
When the lightning starts to crack
When a storm is threatening
When the thunder's deafening

I put up my umbrella
To protect me from the rain
Drip, drop
Till it stops
Then put it down again

When I'm soaked to my skin
When the water's pouring in
To my socks, to my shoes
What do I always do?

I put up my umbrella
To protect me from the rain
Drip, drop
Till it stops
Then put it down again

When I'm well and truly drowned
When puddles flood across the town
When I'm wetter than the sea
Why should I hide beneath a tree?

I put up my umbrella
To protect me from the rain
Drip, drop
Till it stops
Then put it down again

But when the shower starts to die
When everything begins to dry
From above in outer space
Here comes the heat to burn my face

I put up my umbrella
To protect me from the sun
Shining down
To the ground
'Cause summer has begun!
