I'm teaching my cat

to write poetry

She's at the computer

sprawled out my knee

Her favourite topics

are food, dogs and birds

She's focused, inspired

While thinking of words

She's moving the mouse round

with pussycat paws

She's tapping the keyboard

with pussycat claws

I help her with spelling

and rhythm and rhyme

Cat bonding with human

makes for a great time

Though I think she doesn't

quite get it somehow

'Cos all she has written is

miaow, miaow, miaow

miaow, miaow, miaow

miaow, miaow, miaow
